Vehicle and Depot Manager for Mälartåg
In December, VR Sweden will take over the operation of Mälartåg, and we are now looking for a Vehicle and Depot Manager for the assignment, starting during the mobilization phase. Responsibilities
As the Vehicle and Depot Manager for Mälartåg, you are responsible as a purchaser to follow up on VR's maintenance provider and ensure that their commitments regarding vehicles, vehicle maintenance, and depots are carried out in accordance with traffic and maintenance agreements for high vehicle availability and reliability.
The role also involves ensuring that the maintenance provider meets all agreed requirements regarding quality and traffic safety, so that our vehicles used in operations are safe and meet the requirements. This means you have a good understanding of safety management, quality, maintenance planning, and asset management.
In this role, you will have several external contacts in the form of maintenance providers, traffic authorities, vehicle owners, vehicle suppliers, the Transport Agency, and ensure collaboration between these and other stakeholders. You will continuously stay updated on technical developments and work closely with the maintenance provider and other key players to identify and implement improvements. The role also involves producing well-founded technical and economic investigations as well as clear decision-making materials.
Your Background and Competence
We are looking for someone with a technical background, preferably with an engineering degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent. You have experience with railway vehicles, vehicle maintenance, change management, deviation reporting, and contract follow-up. Experience in safety management, asset management, or similar areas is highly meritorious.
You have a strong safety mindset and are confident in the role of purchaser, where you can make decisions with significant impact. We believe you work in a structured manner, have the ability to analyze large amounts of information, and are used to negotiating, setting requirements, and collaborating with various stakeholders. The role requires good computer skills and a very good ability to express yourself in both Swedish and English, in both speech and writing.
Other
The position can be based in Stockholm or Eskilstuna. Regular travel occurs to the depots in Gredby (Eskilstuna), Hagalund (Stockholm), Tillberga lathe (Västerås), and Finnslätten (Västerås).
